By Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte
Directed by Anton Armendariz Diaz, Conducted by Fabio Bezuti
"In this live presentation, the talented performers of Divaria Production return to present a comedy about an exchange of couples in which a philosopher bets with two young friends that women are fickle. Offended by the injury, the two men accept the bet that consists of making the respective lovers believe that the men have been called to war. In fact, they do not leave but return disguised as Turks and put the girls’ fidelity to the test.
Set in 1790 Naples, this production maintains a classical atmosphere of the opera. In the style of Commedia dell’ Arte, the characters create hilarious moments as if they were in a silent film but exhibit more natural acting in the serious parts of the work.
This production will have some anachronisms in modern dances and movements, which, although not innate to the 18th century, are fun and natural within the context of a comedy."
